Staff Reviews: 10 Worship Albums to Encourage You on Your Walk
Here at Pacific Reach, we have a culture of acknowledging Jesus in our everyday life and learning and talking about His goodness and faithfulness to us as individuals and as a ministry. One of the ways we do this is through praise and worship, it turns our focus from ourselves onto Jesus, the one worthy of our attention and adoration. Worship is one of the ways we can honour, bless and give thanks to the Lord for who He is, what He’s done and will do for us! In difficult seasons, like 2020… and even this year, worship songs with edifying lyrics and truth can change our perspective and remind us of God’s character! We can use worship to soak in His presence and bring us deeper into the revelation of His love.
We have a variety of cultures and languages and our taste in music and even worship artists can be diverse. A few of the albums include well-known artists/bands and others have different artists with a very contemporary feel to them. These are 10 worship albums that some of our staff recommend to encourage you, whatever season you may be in. We pray that as you worship they bring you hope and truth, so give them a listen!
Album #1: Old Church Basement
Artist: Elevation Worship & Maverick City
Favourite song: Jireh
Review: “For me, it speaks about being content about what God has spoken about us as His people and what he has given to us – He has given us All things. All that we need is in Him and I really think it’s a timely song for this current season the world is in.” Abigail, 20 USA

Album #4: Preachers
Artist: Harvest
Favourite song: Song of the Lamb
Review: “I like the album because it’s different, it’s not your classic worship music… The lyrics focus on how Jesus alone is worthy. It makes me think about how I see Jesus and question if I have him in the right place in my life. In all, it describes the desire of my heart: that my life would make a difference for the Kingdom.” Victoria, 21 Canada

Album #5: Peace
Artist: Bethel
Favourite song: Peace
Review: “I love this album because I just stumbled on it accidentally when I was going through such a hard time in my life and the album is so restful… it really does bring peace when you listen to it. I LOVE the song ‘peace’ because it acknowledges the struggle and the pain but brings it back to the peace of God.” Jessica, 21 England

“The GoPac Stream challenged me to broaden my view for the people around me, to step out of my comfort zone, and to expand the love that God has put inside of my heart, to love Him and others more.”
Alex Ronsdorf, 24, Germany
“Prayer and Passion completely changed my outlook on the true power that prayer has. It had always been something that I knew worked and I did, but it was boring. Being a part of this stream gave me new understanding of how prayer is worship and fuels the power of heaven connecting with earth. It will move you to a place of praying out of your relationship with the Lord rather than giving him a list of things you want. You will gain a newfound intimacy with God as your prayer life is propelled.”
Tilly Logan, 21, Australia
“Before DBS the Bible was a bit overwhelming to me and I wasn’t sure if I was capable of receiving understanding for myself; especially when it comes to the hard questions or more complex passages. After DBS, that questioning was stripped away and my relationship with my Heavenly Father has gone deeper than ever before.
DBS taught me how to see the Father heart of God. I learned to see God’s justice, faithfulness, and consistency from Genesis to Revelation. My life and relationship with Jesus will never be the same. When I read God’s Word it speaks loudly to me in full color. I cannot get enough of my Father’s words!! DBS equipped me to search out the scriptures for myself and empower me to share what I’ve learned with those around me. DBS was the sweetest time of my entire life.”
Amy Hulehan, 26, USA
“I’ve learn what the Kingdom means for us, how can we bring the Kingdom here and just share it with others… That makes me super excited! The key is to listen to God’s voice, seek His face and His presence! Everything else will be added as he promised is Matthew 6:33!”
Estera Welchar, 22, Poland
“The Medical Compassion DTS gave me a glimpse into the medical side or missions. The compassion part was what caught me. I saw that when we see with Jesus’ eyes of genuine compassion, we must get our hands dirty.”
Brady Picking, 21, Pennsylvania, USA
“Reading the whole Bible was a real challenge for me, but it was so rewarding. My eyes were opened to the fact that Jesus had existed from the very beginning and that God’s gracious heart always was and is the same! I learned that the Bible isn’t just a story about God, but rather a story about imperfect, raw, real people. I know now that I am one of them, and that I can see God work in my life just like He did it with them!”
Jenny Fritz, 19, Germany
“Being part of the Wild Heart stream helped me know my place in the kingdom as well as parts of my spiritual identity. It broke lies and empowered me to be who God called me to be!”
Nicole Tavares, 18, Brazil
“Wild at Heart? Yes, of course! But whatever adventure I went for, I wanted to be the one in control. During my DTS, God changed my heart to go wild with Him. I learned to trust in God and that I don’t have to be in charge, as long as I know the One who is!”
Silas Bauer, 21, Germany
“Before joining the Medical Compassion stream, it was hard for me to understand what total surrender looked like in my life. I realize now that it is not my own compassion that compels me to love and care for others, but rather, it is the Father’s heart through me. I realize now that He is the true Savior, and I am simply a vessel chosen to carry His love and mercy to those hurting around me.”
Maeve Cooney, 18, Maryland, USA
“The Medical Compassion DTS magnified my love for those in need. It stressed the importance of the power of prayer and how I can go to God in all the medical and daily situations in my life and the lives of those I minister to.”
Noah Armbruster, 20, Michigan, USA
